AUSSAWIN SAKSAWADDIKUL
Backend & web developer
I build web applications, REST APIs and data pipelines. At GISTDA, Thailand’s space agency, I shipped a search app over more than a million satellite scenes.
- THEOS satellite scenes searchable through a web app I built
- 1M+
- less time spent on reports, at best, through automation
- 67%
- storage reduced by new parsers2.78 GB to 13.1 MB

About
I am a backend and web developer with 9 months of hands-on experience at GISTDA, building web applications, REST APIs, databases and automated data pipelines with Python and JavaScript.
My work has ranged from a Node.js/Express search app and a Flask back end with Google OAuth and Docker to debugging satellite-image processing pipelines. I also work productively with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.

Experience
Programmer · GISTDA
May 2026 – Aug 2026
Calibration/Validation and Surface Reflectance Analysis Ready Data (SR-ARD) Project
- Built a full-stack STAC search web app over 1M+ THEOS scenes in the National Space Data Center, with filtering by area, date, processing level and cloud cover.
- Debugged and extended a Python SR-ARD pipeline with Kasetsart University: added a 3-tier fallback for atmospheric inputs, integrated Copernicus CAMS data and recovered 5–10 previously unusable images.
- Automated metadata correction to CEOS-ARD specifications across 100+ images, saving 100+ hours of manual editing.
- Designed logging, email-alert and input-folder specifications for the Cal/Val system; tested 6 modules and benchmarked SR-ARD processing time.
- Automated Sentinel-2 basemap downloads and mosaicking, and tuned geometric correction to an RMSE below 7.5 m.
- Created a parallel TIFF-to-PNG batch converter for Earth Gallery that exports 300-DPI images with previews under 5 MB.
Programmer Intern · GISTDA
Nov 2025 – Mar 2026
Cal/Val Team
- Built the back end of iDAR, a satellite pointing-accuracy web app, in a 2-person team: modular Flask, Google OAuth, and a SQLAlchemy/SQLite schema.
- Wrote parsers that reduced storage by 99.5%, from 2.78 GB to 13.1 MB.
- Automated dashboards, Plotly maps and .docx reports, cutting reporting from about 30 minutes to 10–15, and containerized the app with Docker.
- Ran daily THEOS-2 pointing-accuracy checks and wrote the operations manual.
Projects
GISTDA, 2026
STAC Search
Search and map interface for 1M+ THEOS satellite scenes, filterable by area, date, processing level and cloud cover.
Internal project at GISTDA
GISTDA, 2025–2026
iDAR
Web app for monitoring satellite pointing accuracy. I built the back end, including login, parsers, automated reports and the Docker setup.
Internal project at GISTDA
GISTDA, 2026
Sentinel-2 Basemap
Automated Sentinel-2 basemap downloads and mosaicking, and tuned geometric correction to an RMSE below 7.5 m, which is sub-pixel accuracy per CEOS.
Internal project at GISTDA
Personal project
Face Recognition for Class Attendance
Automated attendance system using face recognition, with reports generated in Pandas.

Freelance work
I take on small to medium projects in the areas I already work in:
Web apps & REST APIs
Back ends and internal tools with Flask or Node.js, including login and databases.
Workflow automation
Scripts that replace repetitive work such as file conversion, data cleaning and report generation.
Dashboards & reports
Interactive dashboards and automated reports with Plotly, Chart.js or Power BI.
Map & geospatial apps
Map interfaces and data search with Leaflet.js, QGIS and STAC.
